OSHA’s New Hazcom Rule:  What You Need to Know

Webinar Date: Wednesday, April 3, 2013 1:00 pm

Presenters: Doug Greenhaus, Director of Environment, Health, and Safety, NADA Legal and Regulatory Department

Duration: 45 minutes

Description: Designed to protect employees against workplace chemicals, OSHA’s hazard communication (HazCom) rule has covered dealerships since 1998 and has been a high enforcement priority.  Revisions to the HazCom rule made in 2012 require that by December 1, 2013, dealerships train service, parts, and body shop employees on new hazard classifications, new hazard labels, and new safety data sheets. Geared to dealers and their fixed operations managers, this important webinar will review the basics of HazCom compliance with a particular focus on the new 2012 mandates.

By attending this webinar you will be better able to:

  1. Conduct a hazard determination, develop and maintain a written HazCom program, ensure proper container labeling, and conduct timely employee training.
  2. Ensure employee retraining by December 1, 2013 and maintain required paperwork.
  3. Find and obtain outside compliance assistance resources as needed.
